Diving:
The Merville Beach Hotel has 5 star Padi qualified diving instructors and courses that one can book through the hotel. Booking your dive is a simple beach walk to the left of the cottage.
Golf:

Otherwise there are a host of golf courses throughout the island such as the Links Golf club at Belle Mare Hotel on the East Coast.
Shopping:
Should you be looking for cashmere sweaters and shawls, swimwear, tailored suits, jewellery, bags, and souvenirs, the following will meet your desires: Sunset Boulevard, La Croisette Shopping Centre(www.gblc), Grand Baie Bazaar.
Food shopping: Super U(www.superu.mu) is the biggest supermarket in the area and offers a wide range of supplies. At La Croisette, there is a Food Lovers Market as well as the French brand Thirriet that supplies refined, pre-prepared meals. French wines can be obtained at Vin sur Vin near the Super U supermarket.
Spas:
The Spa Lux at the Merville hotel is the perfect place to de-stress. The best non-hotel spa is Rituals Spa (for more information, visit www.rituals.mu).
Sega Dancing:
Sega Dancing: Sega’s origins lie in the music of the then-enslaved inhabitants of Mascarene islands, in the mid 18th Century. At the time, Sega was looked down upon as it was the music of slaves. However,it was popularised by Ti Frere in the 1960′s. Sega is now considered the national music of Mauritius and is not ethnically restricted. Merville hotel hosts a Sega evening once a week and details are available at the hotel.

Cultural:
Visit the official sugar museum (www.aventuredusucre.com) or the Chateau de Labourdonnais (www.unchateaudanslanature.com) which has been beautifully restored with magnificent orchards, a distillery, and a restaurant.
Island excursions:
Visit the Ile Aux Cerfs,on the east coast opposite the village of Trou D’eau Douce. This island has a golf course, watersports, restaurants and you can visit a waterfall.

Adventure:
